What do you do?

In addition to my role as a lawyer, partner and member of my law firm’s management board, I connect colleagues with one another and with resources to support both their professional success and personal fulfillment and satisfaction.  Because satisfied and connected lawyers are more engaged, engaged lawyers are more successful, and firms with successful and thriving lawyers are stronger and more profitable.

How and why is elevating human flourishing important to you?

Because community, purpose and connection are essential to flourishing, work is a natural place to find purpose, and strong personal connections at work are highly correlated to professional success.   I have been incredibly fortunate in my career to have found colleagues who are also friends, and that above everything else has made a very demanding profession sustainable and enjoyable.   I love what I do because of the people I get to do it with, and now I want to help the next generation build those connections and form a foundation on which to achieve professional satisfaction and success.

What do you do to support growth for individuals personally, at work, at home and in relationships?

I love to connect people with one another, and see the enthusiasm and opportunities that come from those connections.   Recently, I have founded a new initiative within my organization based upon the well-documented link between personal well-being, community, and professional success.   The essential role that having strong personal connections at work plays in enthusiasm for and satisfaction with your professional life.   I hope to continue to expand my work in this area by building a comprehensive professional development curriculum that supports the whole person by bringing together professional development, community and connection, and mental and physical wellness.

How could a community like the HX Collective support or amplify the great you are already doing?

So much of what I do in creating connections and community is built upon my own experience (and a lot of gut instinct), but I have no formal background or training in this arena.  There are so many people and resources out there with expert knowledge, skills and different experiences and perspectives from which I can benefit.   Finding a like-minded community with whom I can share ideas and find support would be a gift to me, and an asset to what I am hoping to build.
